It turned out really nicely, the rendering looks great! 
However, I think the tutorial is not fully logical. If there’s shadow on the bangs, then there should be no light on the forehead. Or at least, it should be less pronounced maybe.

In the original video the author explained it. In short, it’s because it’s anime, we can do it.
Yeah, I get it. I didn’t watch the video (sorry 
), but there’s this rule that around the face or other important points there should be a “high density of information”, i.e. highlights, color variations, more refined details, etc. to draw attention. I agree it works visually.
