I had saved krita animation file but after I restarted Krita I lost all the animation frames and the layers combined with title background.
Maybe you had it open in multiple views? Check the backup file.
Did you Save it as a .kra file?
Do you mean that you lost the progress of all the work you had done,
or do you mean that layers had been merged into a single layer image?
Both. In autosaved file, the first frame with all the background layers is saved as “Background” and the original .kra file has lost all my progress … I can only see two layers like we see when we create a new file. I checked %temp% folder, there are no autosaved files. This is the first time I used Krita for animation(have been using for vector art). So I guess there is some problem with saving animation frames in this version.
Which version number of krita are you using and which operating system?
There is no problem with saving animation frames in any version of krita, I do it often.
If you Quit krita normally, then the autosave file is deleted. Its only purpose is to recover your data in case of a crash.
So, have you been having crashes?
Can you make a simple two layer animation of a few frames, with two objects moving around (or whatever you like) then take a full screen screenshot that shows the Timeline and Layers docker for upload to a reply here.
Then Save it as a .kra file. Quit krita the run it again and open the .kra file to see what is in it.
same problem here. I save the file and when I reopen it, all animation curves are lost
Hi @Paolo_Quaranta - Welcome to the forum.
Please make a new post with your question. Be sure to give us your operating system (Windows, Linux, etx.), Krita version (4.4.8, 5.0, 5.0.2) and any tablet info. Give as much info as possible.
I’ll do but why? duplicating threads for the same problem is against Occam’s Razor…
@Paolo_Quaranta The person who created this topic, to deal with their problem, reported that animation frames had been lost and that layers had been combined.
They also reported that they had an autosaved file, which implies a crash.
You report that animation curves are lost, which sounds like a different problem.
Also, if the creator of the topic returns, any replies from them and further efforts to help them would get mixed up with any efforts to help you.
So, it would be very sensible for you to make a new topic to deal with your problem. It’s easy to do and it’s free.
