I think the best part about krita is that it does not require additional steps between actions

Just a morning thought occured to me while I was drawing today.

For instance, I can press B in the middle of using the transform tool and krita will automatically finish the transforming and go to brush tool. Other painting apps such as firealpaca, CSP requires user to manually ‘confirm’ the transformed state before moving to anything else. But this step is really unnecessary because you can cancel it with Undo anyway.

(*Gimp is the worst in this regard, it inserts complications in between every single little things, which makes it satanically terrible for drawing. But I still like its photo editing features.)

In krita, you can even switch to other tools in the middle of selecting something, and krita will automatically cancel the selection.

It maybe is a small detail of how krita is designed but it makes the drawing experience significantly more fun and stress-free. Thanks to this, I can almost draw without thinking, without having my mental flow being blocked by speed bumps.

Yes, I think that was what bothered me the most in CSP, having to confirm after each transformation.

I would have liked to be able to try this version of gimp:

It has some interesting things that could be in Krita.

Speaking again about Krita, I think it is evolving very well :grinning:

Try development version of GIMP it has some interesting things as well. Like multi layer select etc.
