Hi! I just installed Krita and I’m wondering if anyone knows of any inexpensive pressure sensitive stylus pens that work well with Krita on Windows. I searched for stylus but I didn’t seen anything int he forum.
Thank you for your help!

If you don’t have any device that already come with a pen that can run Windows (like a 2-in-1 laptop), you probably need a whole new device, not just a pen. Search for “graphics tablet”. The most notable brands are Wacom, Huion and XP-Pen (personally my trust to them is roughly in that order). You can get some incredibly cheap (and good quality) ones nowadays, if you choose one with limited functionality and no display. Then you connect it to your PC, and draw on the black surface while looking at your normal monitor. It takes some adjusting and it’s not perfect, but it is very cheap entry to digital painting.
Here is some topic on the forum with plenty of information, though it’s a bit messy, but you can search it for models you think you want to buy: A community curated list of working tablets with krita!
Thanks for your advice! I have an old Dell touch screen laptop. If there was ever a pen, it’s long gone. I can use my finger but I’d like to have a pen I could use, especially if it’s pressure sensitive.
I just want to make sure the pen will work with Windows and the software before I try it. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Here’s a link for Dell touchscreen styluses. You’ll see that some are active and some are passive.
The active ones will work on Dell touch screens that have pressure sensitivity. The passive ones will also work but there is no pressure sensitivity. You’ll have to look up your specific model on the Dell website to see if your touchscreen offers pressure.
You could try the Sonar Pen for windows:
Thanks for the clue of the possibility that the screen might not be pressure sensitive. That’s something to think about, and figure out!
I’ll look into that one. Thanks!
