I'm getting closer to the brush in csp (with a lot of help)

but i have a few issues to resolve still
for starters
the line gets too thin

i need the lineweight to be like this

the second issue is the blackness
heres what it looks like up close in krita

vs in csp

all of you guys helped in one way or another with making this brush
when this brush is done i’ll be sure to give the link to the finished product for you guys to all enjoy, i think by far this will be the most realistic feeling g-pen in krita
and i speak with experience using them before

the next thing after this is just the texture levels but thats not the most necessary thing, more like a plus to the brush

after that maybe just the flicking

lol

here’s the brush ぽにょざらペン_(gpen).bundle - Google Drive
for best experience keep the brush at 10px

This brush is excellent! I’ve been having a great time using it.

Like you mentioned, the only issue is the line getting too thin and vanishing at low pressure, which can be somewhat annoying. I found this is caused by the soften edge value used in the sharpness setting and will go away if increased to a value such as 61, but doing so removes the ‘crispiness’ of the line in a way that’s undesirable. I’m sure you already hit that roadblock while making the preset, so my mentioning of it may redundant. I haven’t tried it myself, but I wonder if the desired effect could be achieved with clever use of a masked brush tip rather than sharpness

I download the brush from the link i am not sure, its there any change around this CSP brushpen, but like the othery guy said:

In my personal experience, i think the size need something like very sharpness like the CSP Brush, if i remember the way of the lines always have very sharp and thin just like a real gpen, because the line sometimes can turn thick too. I am not sure if the idea its been similar.

the Gpen have this start and ending lines.

Besides the texture its fine, just in my opinion need some changes.with the start and the end of the brush stroke.

It’s been super interesting reading this & the related threads!
I’m currently working on a guide about porting brushes between softs [including Krita and CSP] and reading through the threads has been enlightening. I’m gonna try to port some of my favorites and see how that goes, and re-check if I can try to port this on my own step by step from scratch. Maybe I’ll find some info of use that could help you out. Will keep y’all updated!

sounds good

If the brush gets too thin with low pressure, will it help to move the left side of the pressure curve to a value higher than 0?

I do it sometimes with Wacom pen, because it is pretty firm and draws very faint lines with the default Krita pencil brushes.

i have tried that with this brush :pensive:
