Is it possible to make the canvas border larger?
Another solution would be to have perspective points outside the canvas border. Maybe they can be set numerically?

What do you mean, canvas border, and what is exactly your problem with perspective? You can put poins outside of canvas and itâs hard for me to imagine perspective that would require more space than is already availableâŚ
On this I definitely ran into needing to place the VPs outside the area I could see by zooming:
But anyway, with the vanishing point assistant at least, you can place points beyond the zoom limits, you just canât place the VP directly. So youâll need some sort of reference, at least a horizon and another line that converges on the horizon where you want the VP to be. Then you can place the VP.
Edit: Being able to ânudgeâ the VP would be great, I think it would need the ability to define an eye level and a vertical, too, though. So you could slide the VP on the horizon or on the vertical, changing how far it is without changing anything else about the setup.
In the settings the grey area around the canvas is called âcanvas borderâ. You can change its colour.
I tried vertical lines, but it feels like the buildings are leaning, and when I try to use a vanishing point I bottom out and get too much angle on the strokes. So it would be great if I could extend the canvas border to place points further away.
Thatâs it! But how did you do it?
Sorry, I should have explained - I thought everyone uses the assistant this way
The VP assistant is apparently designed to make it easy to find VPs from existing images. So:
When you place your VP, it has this gray blob in the middle. I actually donât recall it being quite so condensed before, I wonder if this is a bug? Click on the blob, trying not to create a new assistant and drag the handles out:
Drag more stuff out of the center, the first time should give you another blob on one of your handles, the second time will probably start moving the VP itself. Drag it somewhere far enough that you can see two grey blobs on both handles:
Now, for each handle, first place the blob closest to the VP on one of your reference lines, then place the one furthest away from it. This will move the VP into the correct location, where the lines you have thus defined converge:
Again, I swear the handles were readily visible before, am I imagining things? Iâm using Krita 5 beta 2. This is pretty hard to use as is, no wonder @Bleke didnât find this method!
Cool! You got all the big brains in Finland!
Iâll try it out when I get back from work.
Oh yes, this is it! The vanishing point now sits in my neighbourâs apartment and does a great job.
It didnât cross my mind to pull those handles, and even after your explanation I was surprised by what they did.
Pull one handle, no effect. Another handle, no effect. Third handle, VP shoots away like a rocket! But with a little practice it is manageable.
