Installing Krita on a new device, how do I transfer my files?

I recently got a new computer to hook my drawing tablet up to and have installed krita onto my new computer. how do I get my krita files from my old computer onto my new computer?

If you are talking about your .kra files, then you need to “move them” yourself either by:

  • manually copying the files from one device to the other (simple yet tedious if this has to be done often)

  • Sync your files using something like Dropbox, Google drive, etc, (not that difficult but you may run out of space on their free tiers quite soon)

  • Setup file synchronization on your server with something like syncthing or rsync (advanced as you need to setup the whole synchronization tooling yourself)

If what you mean os how to get your old bundles and brushes, you could technically copy the Krita resource folder directly and put its contents on the new device’s Krita resources path.

To get to the Krita resources path, you can open Krita > settings menu > select Manage Resources > Select Open Resource Folder

Hope it helps
