Hi! I’ll take a moment to introduce myself to this wonderful community. I am 41 years old female and I’ve been drawing and painting most of my life, but never experienced a big progress and never broke into professional side of things. Recently I had more time and took art more seriously, and I’m quite happy with the progress I’m making.

I switched to Krita about a year ago when I moved to Linux and never looked back. Along with Blender and sometimes Inkscape it really is a great tool stack, I couldn’t be happier.

I do a bit of everything and it’s all over the place. Nature studies, character designs, stylized illustrations, game dev assets for the games we’re slowly working on with my fiancee, and animation learning. I still use traditional media, but very often the convenience of digital tools wins over my lazy heart :).

Welcome, @RadishAndSquirrel. I hear you on the laziness comment. I absolutely do not miss cleaning and maintaining paintbrushes at the end of each painting session.

Hiya! I’m Nyanko and I’m an all-around budding artist/writer. I primarily draw in anime style, but I’m still an amateur and have a lot to learn. Still, I have fun practicing and getting better each time I go at it. I’ve been drawing on and off for about 10 years, mostly drawing concept art and characters for my novels and fan-fics. I’ve definitely improved since my starting phase, but I’m always looking for ways to get better.

I’ve only recently started learning digital art, having used pens and drawing pencils before, but it’s slow going. I definitely have to learn how to use layers more, and shading using layers is another dragon I have to slay. Still, I’m learning little by little. I’ll post my arts soon, so look forward to it. I love using Krita, and the mascot is completely adorable!

Welcome, @KairiOura. This forum is my favourite place to learn about Krita. Since you mentioned Kiki, Krita’s mascot, you may be interested in this month’s art challenge.

Hi.

My name is Jurgen, I have been creating in Krita for some time now and I really like it, especially the Memileo brushes.
I invest quite a bit of time into my art for the purpose of leveling up, exploring new and old ideas as well as to have fun.

Hi, I’m Bread on toast. I’ve been drawing for 4 years now and I enjoy drawing in an anime or cartoony artstyle. I spent half of those years drawing on paper and then wanted to know how it felt drawing on digital art with a drawing pad. I only recently joined the forum a month ago in July and I’ve posted a few artworks since then. I also enjoy posting fan-art pieces of my favourite games, mainly Kirby, Splatoon and Miitopia. I also have a ridiculous amount of ocs… because I went through a phase where I kept on thinking of characters at an annoyingly rapid pace… I sometimes redraw old art as well.

I didn’t know this “introduce yourself” forum existed so I never really introduced myself before I posted anything… but better late than never… I also occasionally participate in the monthly art contests too.

Welcome to the forum. It’s good to have you here!

Thanks!

Hello everyone My name is Boris, and I’m from Russia. My city is Arkhangelsk, it’s the capital of the Russian North (although many people consider Vologda to be the capital, but it’s definitely warmer there than here)! I just bought a graphic tablet a week ago, and a friend of mine immediately recommended that I install Krita. I really like it! I have recurrent depressive disorder. And I run a page called DEPRESSOVI (a play on words in Russian, DEPRESSION + SOVI (owl)). I draw funny comics about a little Owl named Zakhar. He also has depression, and he finds himself in various situations. Through these funny pictures, I’m trying to support other people with mental disorders and overcome the stigmatization of depression and anxiety in society. Anyway, I’d be glad to meet you!

Excuse me for some mistakes in grammar!

Welcome to the forum. Depression is too common and it’s good that you do what you do. Owls are some of the most beautiful creatures that exist!

Hi! I’m Daniel, also know as DD. I’m from Brazil, early 40s, and despite using Krita for a long time now, just a few weeks ago I decided to start doing original art in it, and I’m having a blast. Nice to meet you all!
