Introducing new detailed reaction for posts - Discourse Reactions

Over the past week we were having a discussion initiated by @Mythmaker for making the featured artwork row nomination process more engaging and easy. You can read the discussion here - A better feature + awards system? Your thoughts and ideas needed! ⭐ and give your feedback opinion or ideas. The discussion is still open. So the nomination process is not yet finalized.

One of the suggestion in the thread was to enable the Discourse Reaction Plugin. This plugins enables the user to give more type of reaction rather than only liking a post via the heart icon. We can choose a set of emojis that can be offered to the user.
The current set of extra emojis in addition to the default heart icon are

We can change these to better suit our needs. I have added one emoji for the featured row selection process. It is the Star emoji :star: . By choosing the star emoji user can specify that they are nominating the artwork to be featured in the featured artwork row. An artwork with certain number of stars would likely be chosen to be featured. The process is still not finalized, you can follow the thread linked above to check out the discussion. This was just a first step in the process.

In addition to helping us make nomination process easier this plugin lets the users to give more varied feedback through various reaction. I would like to ask the users here for the list of extra emojis that we want to add in this. it would be good to keep the emoji list small so that user is not confused or presented with a long list of emojis. The number of emoji can be 4-5 so suggest them accordingly.

From the Code of Conduct: FAQ - Krita Artists
Anti-Harassment Statement → Examples of harassment include:

  • Physical contact and simulated physical contact (e.g. textual descriptions like “hug” or “back rub”) without consent or after a request to stop.

I see a mismatch here.

It was one of the defaults and I did not remember about that point. Nice catch. I will remove that one. And add a celebration one for now.

Reactions are risky. I got misunderstood for using smiling emoji. Laughing reactions might bring confused and unwelcoming interactions.

Well we can choose what emojis we show. So we can remove the ones which can lead to issues.

Would there be a contextual/text clue to the emojis? If I just see a star emoji I would not necessarily know that choosing it is the nomination emoji for the feature row…

EDIT: never mind… I just realized this concern is being heavily talked about in the other thread.
