Is Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite compatible with Krita?

Thinking of getting a good but somewhat budget tablet to use Krita on. There’s no info that it is compatible, but other galaxy tabs are. I would just like concrete proof that it is. I don’t wanna waste my time on it.

 Hello @LordSpire, and welcome to the forum!

It is good that you ask before buying your tablet!
The important thing to watch out for, is to assure you that this tablet is able to detect the pressure steps provided by the pen you use. I don’t talk about the ability to sense tapping or the movement of your stylus or finger, but about the fine steps in the pressure you can apply with your pen, which will allow varying the line width with pressure! Also, good to have, but not so essential like the pressure sensitivity is the ability to detect and apply the effect a tilted pen offers, which also can affect the way you can use the abilities the brushes offer.
Unfortunately, we regularly have to tell users that the tablet they bought does not provide this crucial ability to use all the brushes and their abilities.
A standard value for these pressure levels is 8192 levels, the not so good equipped models offer 2048 levels which is also usable and was a standard for years. In between, there was said to be tablets which offer rates above 8192 levels, which may be nice to have but is nothing you urgently need.

not the answer you’re looking for, but I’d like to point out that I own a Tab S6 and krita works great on it (the included stylus has pressure levels that are good enough for me)

100 percent yes it is compatiable cause you can use krita on andrioid but not on ios

Just bought Tab 10 FE.
Works Perfectly!

well it’s no surprise cause krita also works on friends older samsung and xiaomi pad.
but S10 tabs really have some good line quality, better than those two I’ve tried.

Have you even read my posting above?
And, more important, have you understood the implications of it? :person_facepalming:
Every Android tablet should be able to RUN Krita, if it can use all functions of Krita is not defined by the fact it runs, but by the abilities of the tablet. We have more than enough users that are disappointed about their tablets because they are missing the ability to sense the pressure of the stylus, which is essential. An additional function, also important, but a little less essential, is the ability to sense the tilt of the stylus.
So, your answer is not really helpful, because it can lead to uninformed decisions of buyers.

If you purchase the one you’re asking about, I’d get the model with more RAM. Krita loves RAM.

Have you used Krita on Android? I use it every day - happily - but I always warn people to expect some time to learn how to use it on a touch screen with no keyboard.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I’ve decided to buy it when I’m able to. It’s by no means an urgent purchase since I use my laptop to draw. Also, it does support when you tilt the s-pen and allegedly has good pressure sensitivity. Thanks for pointing that out Michael. I don’t really care about the tilting part since my old huion tablet and stylus doesn’t support it, so I have no idea what that’s like.

I hope this thread helps whoever is planning on getting this tablet in the future as well.
