I miss action painting and don’t want to make a mess all over my house. Is there a way to dribble paint, or even paint so thick and wet that it runs down the canvas in a designated angle?

I don’t think there’s any (but I could be wrong!)… I guess a good way to make them is to make animated brushes:
You could make several layers with blotches of paint that are more or less dripping down, that could do the job!
I don’t think Krita has what you need, the only paint program I’m aware of is Verve by Taron. He is working on a commercial version but for now there is only the free one.

No, Krita has no physics simulation. I believe Corel Painter had special layers for that.
