Is there a way to hide the color sampler (color picker) colored rectangles ?

I have looked for it deeply in all Krita’s preferences, online manual, Google and also here. I can’t seem to be able to find a setting or a shortcut that allows me to use the color picking/sampling functionality with that disabled, that is, while painting with the brush, a key shortcut that allows me to pick a color while I am painting (that works well even with my custom shortcut), but in a way that does not show the two colored rectangles (foreground and background color samples) . I use a glazing technique, constantly picking colors from canvas very quickly, and it gets to be distracting/kind of not very comfortable (gets me easily out of “the zone”). I see it is immensely useful for certain workflows (specially the blend-mixing sampling), but I was wondering if is there some non documented shortcut to set the rectangles not to show, or some setting, somewhere.

As anyway, I mix on canvas, used to it since too many years.

I do love the current Krita’s performance and functionality. I’ve been able to make all my usual setup with my art apps, but this is the one thing pending (for me).

Or if it is a pending setting to be added to preferences, I mean, if it is in the roadmap somehow. Thanks in advance. And apologies if this has been asked before, I am not a regular here.

I attached a screenshot, for clarity.

Seconding this, this is driving me nuts !
(On a related note, I’d love to know how to disable the picker icon itself (eyedropper), just like how one can fully disable paint cursor visibility.)

@P_O Go to Settings → Configure Krita → Canvas Input Settings → Alternate Invocation group.
Right-click on an item to get its Delete option.
Double click to change the content of any of the three columns.

I know it’s ‘related’ but please use a New Topic for different subjects in future

Hello -
While I agree that this would be best as different post, this is not that unrelated : I do not mean removing the hotkey binding, I mean turning off the visibility of the eyedropper icon while using it, right next to the swatches that the OP wants to disable the visibility of as well. As similarly to the swatches this icon/cursor gets in the way of working especially when using a Cintiq/tablet display.

hold left control for temporary eyedropper

@kolloom : how does that relate to the above ?

Here’s a diagram to clarify :

I didn’t read closely enough. Yes, it is much more related that I initially assumed.
Someone else may be able to address these two issues, eventually.

Thank you everybody for your replies.

I will try to see if setting only ctrl removes the sample rectangles.

(I did not understand the non related/new topic matter, though  ) Edit: Oh, I see, it was not directed to me.

Just tested using only ctrl (I had changed it to alt, but it’s the same), it does not remove the rectangles. I had already configured a particular key/mouse combo in Alternate invocation, and managed to make it work in my second pen’s side button (I even was able to combine it with x-Mouse Button Control, as I wanted to assign it in a way that I only need to tap the side button, not also hit with the pen tip. I had it so in all other painting apps. I got it to work  ).

Surely for now it can’t be removed (for those of us with this preference), as it is a color sampler’s (color picker, eyedropper) tool behavior: It happens also when you are just using the color picker tool, it’s not a thing that only occurs while temporarily triggering it while using the brush.

I hope sometime in the future it’d get added a tool setting to disable it, or a checkbox (or etc) in preferences. That’d be lovely (leaving the current behavior as default, of course).

The deletion of the shortcut…only deletes the shortcut.

But thank you very much.
