Is there a way to recover a discarded autosave file?

I accidentally was trying to re-open a file but hit “discard autosave, open main file” and the autosave had a whole other page of something on it i was trying to do that i spent about 30min on and i forgot a lot of the info i put
is there a way to go into the system files and recover it, or is it lost forever?

I’ve never tried to recover a discarded autosave file before. Have you looked in the Recycle/Waste bin to see if it’s in there?

Edit:Add: On my Windows 11 Pro system, a discarded autosave file is not in the Recycle Bin.

I have a Lenovo and just tried that and didn’t find it, only autosave files that i purposefully deleted in my file software themselves

Then krita probably uses a system command that bypasses the Recycle Bin.
So, it can’t be recovered.

I’m using a Chromebook and I don’t seem to be able to. I think they’re only held internally in Krita.
