Is there a way to set the brush tip shape to match the texture/shape of the brush I am using?

I recently weaned off using Photoshop and one feature I really liked in the software is that the brush tip would take the shape of whatever brush I was using. And in Krita all I have are the options of Circle or Square alongside the default, soft, and gaussian of course.

Is there a feature or setting I can turn on to do this or do I have to make a feature request?

You mean this?

Go to Settings–> Configure Krita. In the General section, there’s a tab called Cursor. Change the setting to Preview Outline.

Thanks! This sort of worked, it got the shape I wanted but I prefer to have a lower density on the brush I use, and this method seems to set it to %100 whenever I use it.

Thank you for the reply, but I checked it and seems I already have it set to Preview Outline.

You need to understand Krita’s brush engine, here is a full tutorial series:

I don’t really understand what you mean with density but how defined the brush is when you paint is determined by all the other settings like opacity or flow and whatnot. You have to set it to a value that is not at 100%, maybe even utilizing your pen’s pressure. The brush tip only makes the shape of the brush and where the color goes (the black parts). You can also make your own brush tips.
