I am having an issue with the eyedropper tool. When I select the region with the color I want (using the shortcut, it works fine selecting it on the docker), the correct color appears in the Advanced Color Selector section. However, when I try to use the brush tool, the color doesn’t get updated and it was still the previous color I was using. I’m pretty sure it’s a bug but I am still a bit inexperienced with the program.
What do you mean with “when using the brush tool”. You wrote you used the shortcut (ctrl I assume) while on the brush tool.
The color sampler tool has different settings wich determine from which layers to pick (all, current, color labled). The quick picker (ctrl key) does not use it because there are different shortcuts for each mode, so it can make a difference how it was invoked, by holding ctrl (while being on another tool like freehand brush) or completely switching to the color sampler tool.
Ah my bad, yeah with the shortcut (ctrl + right click) on the brush tool for the eyedropper when I activate it on the colored region it changes to it on the Advanced Color Selector but when I try doing a stroke on the canvas it’s still the previous color.
Manually switch to the color sampler via the tool box, then check in the tool options docker if it set to pick foreground color.
The confusing thing about the color sampler is that some of the settings are also applied to the shortcut but some are not and from the top of my head I can’t remember which ones.
Better check all the options and if it works like intended. Then it should also work while using the ctrl key.
Do you mean this? The thing is everything just works normally with the standard color sampler tool but when I try using the shortcut it’s bugged. I could send you a video clip of it
Yes, this should be right. Additionally, one could reduce the radius setting when sampling using mouse or stylus, but that is also a question of personal taste.
You can change the canvas settings if you like but must be careful to make sure that no Keyboard Shortcuts are using anything you want to use as a Canvas Input setting.
