Issues importing ABR files

Hello @carinea, if my now deliberately “kept short” answer should not help you, please be so kind to ask your question about abrMate, which I, among other things, mentioned here and offered two download options, in a new topic to be created by you in the category Support and Advice - General Questions, this link takes you directly to that category, there click on the button + New Topic.

In abrMate you have to load an ABR file to be converted via the uppermost button “Open Brush Set…”, the Windows Explorer opens for this, with which you select the file, and load it with the “Open” button of Windows-Explorer.
After the images of the contained brush tips are displayed in abrMate’s window you have to press the button “Convert All Open Brushes to PS7.x”, when abrMate has finished the conversion the Windows Explorer opens again in the directory from which you have selected the not working ABR file before, and offers you to save the converted ABR file, which it enters with the prefix “ps7-” in front of the original file name in the file name line. You can now save the file there, or in any directory of your choice.

Now you have to import this new file into Krita via ‘‘Settings’’ >> ‘‘Manage Resource Libraries…’’ >> ‘‘Import’’, or alternatively via ‘‘Settings’’ >> ‘‘Manage Resources…’’ >> ‘‘Import Resources’’.

Remember, these are not brush presets and can’t be found in the Presets Docker!
They are brush tips, and after importing them in Krita you can assign these brush tips to existing presets in the Brush Editor accessible with F5 on your keyboard or Krita’s toolbar, or you can alternatively create completely new brushes with these brush tips.

If you are still stuck with this, please create your own topic about it, and there please describe exactly what you have done so far and where you are having problems.
