During the process of painting, when I’m not totally satisfied with the colors, I sometimes use “Adjust > Color Balance”; and when I want to increase the contrast, I use “Adjust > Color Adjustment Curves” or “Adjust > Levels”, depending on the situation.

He doesn’t work in Krita but all the manipulations can be done still. I mostly use the “Copy Visible + Adjust Levels (colors) + Gaussian Blur + turn into Overlay mode + lower opacity” trick…
So this month was kinda busy for me, but this challenge was too cool to pass up on! I definitely had more ideas than time to draw - but I’m grateful I was able to whip up one before the whistle blew. So great scrolling through all the fun ideas here!
Using Krita for many years I recognized the forum this month, registered and looked around. And when I stumbled upon this challenge I started thinking about possible entries. I sketched 4 possible creations and finished one:
For this creation I used references for young lions and mouses to combine both. I used oil paint with the wet RGBA brush sets of David Revoy and Ramon which are intuitive to paint with for me.
In several stages of this painting I tried different adjustment filters like changing the levels, improving the color scheme with HSV or just playing with the contrast. And after finishing the image I used levels and a little HSV.
Such a kind community, impressive artists and nice people.
The voting will be very difficult with these fun and professional submissions.
As a very young artist, I made the outlines with paper and pencil and switched to Krita for the color painting and my Dad helped me using filters to get the background white.
The lions are meditating and calm but the gazelle is screaming while sitting together with the lions:
Didn’t think I’d be able to finish anything in time because I didn’t have any ideas, luckily something came to me when taking the train! I could’ve sworn I saw a bunch of fish in the tunnels

As the clock starts, the artist begins to make their day. Carefully considering their options until the clouds take over. Both beautiful and menacing at the same time, they threaten the peace and tranquility of the scene. In that moment, the artist is to decide, “How will I finish this? How does this day end?”

Looks like another tough decision for this months challenge. I had a piece i was working on but got too busy with homework projects… I’ll save it for another time.
I think we can all agree Kiki needs something to beat the heat for July. I mean, being an anthropomorphic squirrel, she must be really extra hot in this heat wave. Poor dear.
At least August happens to be my birth month; why not a birthday gift in the form of digital artwork made with Krita? You and others may look at my portfolio for ideas.
