Hello,
I’m trying to assign a keyboard shortcut “Copy Layer”, unfortunately this doesn’t work, it isn’t copied and executed.
What could be the reason for this?

‘Copy Layer’ will copy the layer to the clipboard, You then have to paste it to a new layer that will be created with ‘Paste Layer’.
Or you can create a new empty layer and do Ctrl+V.
yes I know that you can also do it with CTRL + V and CTRL + C, but these are 2 commands, I want to do this with one command but I want to assign the keys, and this doesn’t work, =)
Then you may want to use ‘Duplicate Layer or Mask’ which is Ctrl+J.
That will create a new layer that is a duplicate of the layer that was selected when you pressed Ctrl+J.
It’s also a listed option in the Layers Docker when you do right-click on a layer.
Edit:Add: I’ve changed the category of your topic.
You can also not copy and paste with the same key because Krita can’t determine which action you actually want to do, it can’t read your mind. For example, imagine you copied a layer but it was the wrong one, now you select another layer press the shortcut again. How should the program know you want to copy this instead of pasting. Or when you want to paste the same layer multiple times, it wouldn’t understand that this time you actually don’t want to copy a layer. The duplicate layer shortcut is the closest you can get to do it with a single key. And S is probably used by something else too.
