Krita 5.2.11-1 and XP Pen tablet: Pressure doesn't work on Linux

Type of device* : Drawing Tablet
Brand and version of the device: Xp Pen Star G960S Plus
System** : Linux

Krita no longer recognizes pressure, maybe other things too but I was only focused on the pressure.

WinInk is not an option since I’m on Linux, meanwhile the drivers are old. The issue is that I can’t update them. The latest drivers on linux are from March and are pretty broken for my tablet. Theres a delay in button pressing, so that’s not an option either. I haven’t used them since then. XP Pen app says version is 3.4.9

I downgraded to 5.2.9-2 and that fixed the issue. I didn’t test the in between versions.

For your driver issue, you can go to https://opentabletdriver.net/ and try to find your model in the list of tablets supported. Usually, users state the driver from Open Tablet Driver work far better than the garbage XP-Pen calls a driver.

Because of your versions of Krita I have a question: “Do you use the Krita AppImages?”, the version number you state seems strange to me since there usually isn’t a -1 or -2 addition to the version number. And if you aren’t using the AppImages of Krita, it is always a very good idea to see if your issue using the AppImage persists, because the AppImages are the only official versions of Krita made by the makers of Krita. Not even the snap and the Flatpak version found on Krita’s homepage are from the makers of Krita, but the maintainers of these versions are allowed to offer their versions via Krita’s infrastructure.

I tested the appimage as well, same issue, however good call on the drivers. After installing opentabletdrivers it’s working just fine.

Forgot to say thanks a lot. This new driver seems like a pretty good upgrade haha, I don’t have to use a 1-2 year old driver anymore :skull:
