Krita 5.2 - Is there any brush tilting adjustment?

My first post. Hope that I am in the right section.

Trying out 5.2 new features.
One problem when I inserted the new Brush Option Slider 3, in the drop-down there in no brush tilting lever? Is there a method to activate this feature? I am using the AppImage version on Linux Mint 21.

Hello @liamdale and welcome to the forum

I’ve changed the category of your topic to a more suitable one and the title to a more explanatory one. Please bear those factors in mind for any future topics you make.

The Tilt of a stylus can be used to control various parameters of a brush preset.
However, your drawing tablet + stylus may not have that feature built into it.
If it doesn’t then you can’t use the tilt of the stylus to control how a brush preset behaves.

Are you suggesting/hoping that a manual adjustment of the Tilt value be made possible inside krita?
If it was, that would only have effect on a brush preset that used Tilt as a control input.
Not many do because few people have a tablet/stylus with a Tilt output.

Thank you for sending me to the right section.

My tablet is the XP-Pen 13.3 pro and according to the specs it has 60 degree tilt capabilities.

I am also on Linux Mint which I some cases the Drivers are not to par.

There may be that but I use the standard driver on Linux and my tablet has no Tilt output so I wouldn’t notice any problems.
Someone who knows more about tablet drivers on Linux may be able to help especially if they have a stylus with Tilt output.

Do you get Tilt control with brush presets that have Tilt control inputs?
Have you tried modifying an existing brush preset to use Tilt, e.g by making Ratio controlled by Tilt Elevation on something like Basic-2 Opacity?
That would test it.

I am new to Krita and I suspect that I used the wrong name for the function I am seeking. What I call tilt lever function may be the rotation lever. These two terms are the same in my mind but I may be wrong. With 5.2 a flat brush can be rotated using the slider at the top of the krita window. The same function can be found in the Brush editor using the title “Brush Tip >Angle”. My added slider does not have this rotation lever (or icon). Is Tilt and Rotation the same thing?
The slider Should contain the functions: Flow, Opacity, Size, Rotation, Pattern Scale. My drop-down is lacking Rotation.

Are you using version 5.2.2.? (There is no version 5.2)

I’m using version 5.2.2 and all the slider controls have a Rotation slider option and that adjusts the rotation/angle of the brushtip.

‘Tilt’ is a very definite and well known thing that is a physical property of the stylus and (it the tablet/stylus has it) is a signal that is sent to krita where it can be used to control brush preset parameters in the same way that the stylus pressure signal can be used to control brush parameters.

The problem is solved. It is due to my inexperience. My version when I wrote this post was version 5.2.1. I have just downloaded and configured 5.2.2 and the rotation lever (icon) is in fact there. Thank you for all the replies.
