Krita 5.3 sneek peak - new color sampler indicator

Some time ago I, like others before, made a post about my hand obscuring the on canvas color sampler indicator (relevant for right handed pen display users):

In Krita Next (version 5.3) this has been adressed.
Users can choose a new circle style indicator or keep the square one, but move it to a position so that it does not get obscured anymore.
You can even disable the indicator.

I could’nt resist to post this, because for me it is a really nice quality of life change - and maybe users here missed the related feature request:

Whoa!!!

I spent the whole evening painting with 5.3. I can never go back now. This color sampler is such a game changer.

Not to mention being able to call multiple dockers with the pop up widget. It makes canvas only painting so much more effective for tablet users. Whew!

This is actually gonna be in 5.2.14, you won’t have to wait until 5.3. Along with the touch-and-hold gesture to summon the color picker, it was considered important enough to include earlier.

Pixel precise colour selector (magnifier HUD)

Summary One thing I miss from Affinity Photo/ Designer is its pixel precise colour selector. It is basically a magnifying glass that you may be familiar with in iOS when dragging the cursor in a piece of text. Because of the magnifier, it is very clear which pixel is selected to extract a colour value from. Problem Currently, it is difficult to select a colour precisely when it occupies a small portion of the canvas. This requires zooming in and a bit of trial and error. So you may…

We’re aware of this feature existing, but it won’t be in 5.2.14 or 5.3.0. Maybe later, if there is sufficient interest or someone contributes it.
