Krita Beginners tutorial series

Hi @AhabGreybeard ,

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation, it makes sense. You are right, saving is a more complex topic and I wanted to simplify it maybe too much. Perhaps it is worth another video with some clarification.

So, I recorded and uploaded a video about the topic. Please let me know what do you think.

Hi @tmolnar

That was a good clarification and an easy to understand presentation for a beginner. I’m looking forward to your next series of videos.
Thank you for the reference and acknowlegement

Thank you very much!

I’m wondering about what would be useful for the future to record. This series got much better responses than I thought it would, so it seems that beginners want such videos. I’m still waiting for my Rode microphone, it is about to arrive on 25th.

There are all sorts of things that would be useful or even essential for a beginner to know so it’s difficult to say what are the most important ones.

Maybe provide a link to the manual, not just in the notes but show it as part of the video and say how useful it is.
I know that the manual link is provided on the website where you download but many people will skip this (or not even notice) because they want to have fun and do cool stuff as quickly as possible. (As I did  )

There is a topic that can cause problems and that is interfacing to a graphics tablet and that has been raised here very recently:

Problems here can be difficult and confusing to solve, depending on the tablet and its various facilities.
Maybe an overview of the options in krita (which are quite simple) and to point out that if the graphics tablet doesn’t work then it’s a problem with the configuration settings at the krita side or the more complex tablet driver side.
It’s too complex a subject to cover in a video so an overview and general advice is all you could give really.

I’m glad that you’re getting a better microphone because your audio levels are low and there is signal noise present. I hope your new microphone and a new setup can help you to solve that issue.

I’d suggest that you start a new topic for your next series because this one is getting quiite long. You can link to this topic or maybe do single line links to the first series videos when you make a new topic for the second series.

You could start a new topic asking for idea for the second series?

There’s a lot to cover and so many ways of covering and presenting it so good luck for the future and thank you for making them

@tmolnar Just wanted to say thankyou for these very helpful tutorials, as a beginner I have many questions and watching these videos has made me more confident of what I need to learn and to just keep experimenting. Looking forward to more.

I’m glad I can help with these and give something back to the Krita community! Enjoy them and look around for the new content. A basic bouncing ball with stretch and squash (but no clean up, very rough) animation demo in Krita is on the way.
