Krita doesn't work! Unfortunately!

I move to Linux Fedora,
Install and start Krita 5.2.2
When I move my mouse outside the canvas, all menus and sidebars immediately disappear – Please look at the attached screenshot

What can I do?

Is there perhaps another Linux distribution particularly suitable for Krita?
I’ve been painting with Krita on Windows for years. Everything was perfect!
I only changed the operating system. The hardware is unchanged!

Hello @ftomasch and welcome to the forum

How do you run krita and where did you get it from?

The recommended method is to use the appimage from here:
Krita Desktop | Krita

In case you don’t already know, you need to give it Execution permissions to run.

All Linux distributions should run the appimage but I believe that the ones that use Wayland do have some problems in some areas.

I can run the 5.2.2 appimage on Linux Mint with no problems.

From what I see you are using gnome, do I install Krita from the store?, if so I recommend you download Krita from the page and not from the Fedora store.

I installed Krita 5.15 via Fedora’s “Software” app
I downloaded Krita 5.2.0 directly from Krita.org.
I also performed a restart
I opened various images in Krita.

it’s always the same:
Krita starts normally and Krita seems to work - except that the side windows turn black

A screenshot showing the appimage in use with black side windows would be helpful. Please capture the entire Krita workspace.

Download the appinage for krita website, make it executable and run it. Make sure you are using X11 session. You can log into x11 when you login.

If the appinage under x11 doesn’t have this issue then file a report with fedora packaging team so that they can see what’s missing in the package.

Thank you very very much for the quick help!

I changed the Distro to Kubuntu. Krita works now perfekt!
