Hi Guys, my first post here. I have been practising 3D modelling and rendering for a while now and have reached a level within those dicsaplines where I think I need to get a handle on post proscessing and in particular Matte painting. I have attached a few images of where I am at. I mostly do fairly close images due to the limitations of 3D models and renders (Computers ability to handle such large copmp
lex files). I would like to learn more and have a go at those beutifull atmospheric, epic, majestic, panoramic scenes that the big boys create. So I…gulp…have to recon with matte painting and get capeable with it to create the scenes I wish to create. Is Krita for me do you think?
Sorry that was long winded but I needed to be clear![
In terms of photo manipulation, Krita can do a lot but that’s not its main focus. There are other apps that are more complete. However it’s very handy to stick with a single app so I do some photo manip. in Krita because I’m familiar with it and I don’t do anything fancy. A YouTube channel that helped me a lot is PhotoLearningism. That YouTuber teaches how to use Krita in that way.
For matte painting, well just give it a try. Many love painting with Krita. You have incredible control over your brushes.
Check the second bullet point above get krita button.we do have some matte painters here but not many. So welcome to the community. Let us know your workflow and what features you use or if you have any questions or suggestions
