Krita image previews in Eye of Gnome image viewer

I have been working on a module to add image support to the default image viewer on Gnome desktop environment (it is called Eye of Gnome or eog for short, but usually just appears as “Image Viewer” in the system menus).

I thought I would share it in the forums here:

If you are comfortable building and installing packages on Linux you could try it out.

I am still testing a few things, but in time I will work on adding a ppa and release to make installation easier.

Very good, you could also contribute with the current Gnome viewer

Hi, I can look into contributing to the Gnome Viewer at some point but not sure if they will want this added directly.

Today I did some testing/bugfixes for a release candidate and added a deb file on the release page that can be installed more easily.

I also added support for previewing “ora” files, since they use the same pattern as “kra” files.

Actually I see, what you are saying, that Gnome 45 has replaced its default image viewer. I will look into this as well.

Hi, I made a loader for the Loupe image viewer if you care to try it out.

I am unable to post a link directly, but it can be found here:
