Krita is unresponsive with the keyboard after using the text tool. It does not recognize any keys except command keys like, Ctrl, alt, shift but it does not recognize keys like v for line tool ,l for lasso. Does anyone know why is this happening.
Version 5.2.3 btw
Is this also the case after a restart of Krita, or does it only happen after using the text tool and a restart resets it? If the latter is the case, and you don’t write much/often in Krita, then at least you have a workaround.
What could also help is to unpair/pair the keyboard, but that gets tedious if you have to do it often, as does restarting Krita all the time.
But I have no idea what the reason for this may be.

Yes resetting krita helps. But if I try to use the text tool krita does not recognize any key words I type as commands. Like L for lasso and such. But recognize command keys like Ctrl+T,Ctrl+s and alt.
Hello, this is to inform that i have found the solution which was to disable google board.it was opening a window behind krita which pervented krita from receving any keyword i type. since gboard doesnot have command keys like ctrl, alt, shift and because of that they were the only keypresses that was being passed to krita. gboard was the problem all along, this must be a bug in gboard.
I’m so happy you found the solution! Your post might help other people in the future, too, so thank you for capturing the details here.
