I’ve been using Krita (v4.4.8, windows 10) for a few months without encountering any issues (wonderful software by the way), until 3 days ago.
I opened an painting I had been working on, and it was different from when I last saved it.
Some areas of the painting were kind of awkwardly “pixellised”, seemingly quite randomly.
It was like if some lines or shapes (that had smooth edges) became"crenelated".
The red circle features the “crenelated” lines/shapes, and just below it (green circle) is a normally lined shape.
The weird zones also appear when the file is exported, and they can be modified like any other point in the image.
I restarted krita, as well as my computer, updated krita (v4.4.8), searched on the net, but never found anything that could either bring the lines back to the way they were, or explain this anomaly.
It is a very basic painting : light weight, few layers.
It may be of importance (?) that I used the lasso tool to define all these shapes.
The same brush was used for the whole painting.
I’m kinda stuck, so if anyone had an idea, that’d be wonderful !
Both regions were selected with the image zoomed out and then were filled.
The left one was made with the Freehand Selection tool in Replace mode then the right one was Added using Shift as a modifier.
I suggest that you use the portable .zip package and backup your configuration files and the resources folder before using it.
The formal 5.0.0 release is due ‘soon’.
