Krita mobile UI feedback

Right now, the krita interface is completely unsuitable for mobile devices. Will it be changed and where can I submit my concepts?

Hi

Krita for Android is:

  • Still in beta
  • Officially support tablet only, not smartphone

Concerning when it will be changed, I think developers have already that in their todo but it’s not for now, there’s a lot of thing to refactor before being able to get a better mobile device support.

You can always submit your concepts about mobile device interface, there’s already many of them in forum

Just avoid to take the first topic found for that: it’s better to create a dedicated topic.

Yes, I already noticed that the card is not designed for a smartphone. But on a tablet, the interface looks bad too. I really hope that by the release they will rework the design completely and it will look more modern and comfortable.

Yeah at some point it will be revamped. Follow the development to know more and at the time of its testing please provide feedback.

Welcome to the forum, @dmitry.kostarnov. You probably know this already, but just in case…

You have a lot of control over the interface. Here’s how I changed mine to work on a small tablet. I have 4 dockers on the right side - the touch docker is always visible and the other 3 are behind it (brush presets, layers and advanced color wheel).

I’m talking about the fact that the interface takes up a lot of space and looks outdated. Look at ProCreate and it looks like. Yes, it is less functional, but, corny, the canvas takes up more space. I had an idea how to hide the interface. When I have enough free time I will make a concept.

And btw, your art looks great.

Yeah that is because this is the first iteration of Krita on mobile and it is a direct 1-1 port of the desktop application you can say that it is exactly the desktop application running on the tablet. And we know that this is not ideal. Hence I said that at some point it will be revamped. Meanwhile people are suggesting things you can do to ease the situation so that you can atleast draw in it provided you are willing to use Krita in its current state, otherwise procreate is awesome and the best you can use that now.

We can stop going round and round with the same points, only reply when we have to add something useful.

We are way past going off topic in someone else’s thread. please open a new thread in future, I am moving this to a new topic.
