Krita (next) crashes when rendering animations as .GIF

First off, I’m using Krita Next, and yes, the crashes have only occurred since I switched to it.

Downloaded and tested different versions of FFMpeg, tried different settings, but Krita crashes right at the end of the rendering process. It splices all of the frames, creates the color.pallete file, but just refuses to create the .GIF - leaving all the individual frames in my export folder.

It doesn’t have an issue rendering mp4’s or webm’s though, purely .GIFs.

I’d switch back to the previous version of Krita if it was an option, but I just can’t go without the newer features.

Grrr… Yes, it crashes/asserts for me, too. Just when we have tagged and built beta3. I’ve made a bug report:

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446320

Ah, I see… Bummer to hear it’s a common issue.

As a temporary workaround I tried converting Webm / Mp4 versions back into gif, but that constantly messes up the intended framerate.

Here’s hoping the issue gets fixed soon. :frowning:

I’ve asked @emmetpdx and @eoinoneill to look into it. Another workaround could possibly be to create the .kra file the latest version, then use an older version to render it.

It’s fixed now
