Krita Splash and welcome screen refesh suggestion

For my taste I prefer not to have a welcome screen. Regarding the splash screen, I am no longer talking about being able to change it, but I think that at least it should be possible to remove it through a configuration option (as blender does). It’s not that kiki bothers me (although it’s not that I love her either), but I think there are many people who for different reasons don’t want it to appear on their computer every time they use krita. I don’t think they should be forced to go through it if they want to use krita, or crucified if they want to. Each one of us has our tastes and interests, and being krita an open source program for everyone, and being just something aesthetic without functionality, and easy to solve, I think it would be a plus for everyone.

Hi

That’s already possible

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes, I knew that. But I still think it should be a builtin option not a command. For example, I know a bit of C# but I have hardly ever used the command line. I know how to draw, not program (or not too much). In my case I already have to investigate a little how to do it and because I have already used it at some point. Those who have never done it and have no interest in programming will find it more difficult. I see no reason to complicate something so reasonable. By the way, I have a question, if I wanted to use that command, would I have to do it every time I start krita? (without using scripts, sells or things from hell like that)

On linux the command can be provided in the shortcut file (.desktop file in linux) , perhaps there is some way to add it in windows too

I’m a little bit distrubed…
If you know a little bit of C# you should now how to execute a program…?

krita.exe --no-splash

If you know how to create a shortcut in Windows, just update the target and add option --no-splash

xDDD, I know the basics of the language, I have never compiled anything, beyond hitting play in the editor. I’ve never done a sortcut either, I learn what I need and generally, since I don’t need it again, I end up forgetting it (my memory isn’t what it was xD). I’ll try it, I hope I don’t forget later. Thank you very much again for your answer. All the best

Thanks, I use windows. In case someone might be interested, in my case, on windows, the option that works is --nosplash, after the .exe quotes. No --no-splash. Thanks to Grum999 and raghukamath. All the best.

How is no splash even a thing?.. Oh well.

This reduces the startup time of Krita by about one thousandth of a second. In the life of a mayfly, that’s a significant period of time… :joy:
