my current Krita username is the first part of my school email, im leaving this year so my school account will get deleted. Is my Krita connected to my google account in any way? And will my school email, the one that the first part is my current user, getting deleted impact my Krita?
You have your KA account on gmail, right? Then you don’t need to do anything, it is not connected to your school email in any way. If it was the gmail account being deleted, then you’d need to change your email, but from my understanding, that’s not the case here.
my gmail account is getting deleted, June 19 in fact, I can save my school account data and put it into another gmail account drive, but I haven’t tried yet. All I have to do is change my gmail account for my KA account right? How am I supposed to do this?
You can press wrench on https://krita-artists.org/u/pigeont/preferences/account and change it.
But I doubt it a bit… how would your school detele your Google email account? they can remove the school email account, but I doubt they can remove your Google email… And your KA is on the Google email.
But if you do want/need to change it, that’s the way to do it.
I use my school account for google at the current, so if my school account were to be deleted, my google would switch to my home account, sorry if I’m not explaining very well ^^’
Ah wait, it seems I fumbled in explaining things, when I open Krita, the username for the actual app (ex. /Users/[insert username]/Library/Application Support/krita) is the first part of the school gmail, does my school gmail getting deleted affect the Krita app? Or will it be fine since Krita is stored in Finder/files?
Oh, I seem to have misunderstood you. It’s not about Krita Artists forum, but the Krita application.
Is your Krita app located in any cloud service or on a device you won’t have an access to? Is it MacOS that you’re using?
Who made that account with that [username] - you or the school? who this device belongs to?
Krita is in my Finder, and the device is my Macbook Air that is for both school and personal use. I just downloaded Krita to my Mac from the Chrome browser, but the username happens to be the first part of my school gmail so I’m a bit wary since I don’t want my stuff to get deleted along with the gmail account, additionally, when I downloaded Krita from Chrome, the google account was my school one, so it may be connected to my school account. I’m not quite sure how the Krita application works since I’m quite new to using it and digital art in general.
If the login username on your Macbook is ‘pigeont’ and your gmail address is ‘pigeont@gmail.com’ then the deletion of the ‘pigeont@gmail.com’ account will have no effect on your Macbook.
If you downloaded the krita application using a Chrome browser, or any browser, the krita software that was downloaded is not affected or influenced in any way by the browser you used to download it.
I’m assuming that the Macbook is your personal property and is not remotely managed by your school IT department. If it is then you need to contact them to ask about this.
oh thank you so much! My mac was bought personally and isnt managed by the school, so it should be fine then!
