Krita with PureRef?

Hello folks,
you know the program PureRef? cool prog.

if you use it for the badge, for example, i think it’s great, but if you need the colors from the image, you have to load the image into Krita, is it possible to technically connect the program so that the eyedropper works there too?.. me white ^^ blatant question

Warm greetings

If the only thing you want is to be able to pick color on an another software, that’s already possible

Slightly off topic, but I couldn’t resist commenting and introducing you to its open source counterpart - https://beeref.org/

I am biased of course but I would recommend you the imagine board plugin.

It replaces most of the PureRef needs and it is integrated within krita making colour picking quite an easy process. And also saving the paths of your ref board onto your krita save file.

Automatic image packers are still not implemented though but it’s strength leys in system file sorting and organazation by using tags.

I have to install it first, don’t I? Imagine board plugin
okay here…

and how do i install it? all very confusing

The easiest way to install plugins in Krita is to go to “Tools” >> “Scripts” >> “Import Python Plugin from File…”, then in the dialog that opens, specify the path to the plugin (the ZIP files you just downloaded) and confirm it, confirm the next dialog box as well, then restart Krita and then, depending on the plugin, set up the plugin to your liking.

In GitHub - EyeOdin/imagine_board: Krita - Plugin - Browse images and create image boards., click on the green “Code” button and click “Download Zip”.

Then, follow @Michelist instructions to install in Krita.

I hope this helps!

ok is installed, but I can’t find an Imagine Board plugin under Dockers

but it is activated

Check Settings> Configure Krita> Python Plugin Manager

There should be a tick next to Imagine Board if it’s active.

Edit: Oh… wait - you said it’s active already!

And, did you restart Krita afterwards?

And @Grum999 described how to use the eyedropper outside Krita to get color values by calling the Foreground/Background-Color-Selector. But it only works via the Foreground/Background-Color-Selector, other ways to call the eyedropper don’t work, as far as I know.

This is how the PureRef team described to me how to use with Krita:

“There’s also a trick in for example Krita, that if you open the “Select a color”-window by clicking the little color square, and select the color picker tool from there, you can color pick from anywhere on your screen! We think that’s really neat!”

(They’re referring to the tool I circled in yellow.)

I can’t do better explanation than my video example…

Did you really tried to do exactly as I showed?
Or this method doesn’t really work on your side?

ps: it’s better to put @ as prefix to user name to inform user that’s someone is directly trying to communicate

Grum999

yes, tick is set
Imagine Board is not under DOCKERS

and what foreground/background color selector, that’s inside KRITA, outside it doesn’t work
I first need the Imagine Board and activate it in it, that’s how I understood it

Did you restart Krita? The fact it says, during the installation, it is activated, does not mean it is directly useable, you must restart Krita.

ah ok now watched the video again yes that’s how it works but not 100%
because if I click outside, he picks up the color, but there is no cross as in his video so I can’t do it like he does, if I click on the logo with the pinpete he opens the page for me, but the he takes color
give a shurtcut for this ?
YES, 2 restarts

ok your imagine board is quite good, but i miss the zoom function with the wheel

it’s definitely better than that with forward/background =)

Display Interaction

  • LMB x1 : Display filename
  • LMB x2 : Change to Grid mode
  • SHIFT + LMB : Camera Pan
  • SHIFT + RMB : Camera Zoom
  • CTRL + LMB : Pagination Single, tap on the top or bottom edge
  • CTRL + LMB : Pagination Stylus, press on center and drag horizontal or vertical (before drag does Camera Reset)
  • CTRL + SHIFT + LMB : Pagination Compressed, with a compressed file open drag horizontal or vertical
  • ALT + LMB : Drag and drop file.
  • MMB : Camera Pan, press and drag
  • WHEEL : Pagination Single
  • SHIFT + WHEEL : Camera Zoom
  • (CTRL or CTRL+SHIFT) + WHEEL : Pagination Compressed, with a compressed file open
  • SHORTCUTS : Pagination Single

ah very nice^^ hmm I don’t want to overwhelm you =) very cool everything done, for one who uses the tablet touch it’s annoying to always reach for the mouse laughing =)

if you could operate the part with touch, =) wow ^ ^ is something difficult?
is this in the planning? @EyeOdin

the normal tweezers can be called up with CTRL.

but how do I call “which button” the tweezers in the foreground/background color? because that’s the only way I can get a grip on the outside
