Kynlo sketchbook 2026

Hope everyone has a great start to 2026!

My color picker seems to keep shifting colors into the teal colors, it’s weird. I probably have sabotaged myself at the start of 2026. But after struggling a little, I feel like I can reliably pick off the color wheel. I guess we’ll see

2026 - year of not using the color picker!

oof, that’s rough. no color picker is a no go for me. I gotta have it.

Have you figured out what is causing it? Have you posted a bug report?

it isn’t easy to stop if you’ve been used to using it for a long time, but it’s possible - just gotta embrace the suck for a little while

No idea. Doesn’t happen anymore. Might have been something with Krita, or the wacom driver. I have since restarted my computer, and it doesn’t seem to happen any more (new files or even the one where I first noticed it). I’ll try a few more times, maybe it has to do with the fact that I had a reference image, but that seems incorrect - i use that feature all the time and never had problems.

but 2026 is still going to be the year without color picking  … it’s been decided

what if you need to blend in between the colors though? do you just store the colors in your foreground/background color and switch between the two?

So for the portrait I have above, I put down colors with a smudge brush or a normal brush and then smudged. I’m picking colors based on lessons from Marco Bucci – treating gray as a gravity well

If I am blending, I have picked the majority of the intermediate colors.. but I’m trying to being much more deliberate (this is an exercise i used to do https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0Qbw7Wlsgc and what I’m revisiting now)

The skins have amazing transitions though, especially if you are using that technique in that video.

Good job.

apparently I’ve reached the sketchbook topic limit :joy: - it’s 5! Guess it’s time to rename this sketchbook and make it last forever :infinity:

bummer… it looks like I can’t change the image the topic uses in gallery mode any more.
