When naming multiple layers with the Layer Properties (F3) panel, is there any kind of syntax for the layer names? Like “layername-##” for example.
I would also like to remove the space and start the enumeration at 1 instead of 0.

As far as I know, there is no syntax. It’s just text then an automatic added space then number sequence always starting at 0.
