Layer

Hi all, i have a little problem…

I want the triangle with content to disappear under the large square frame when I move it to the left.

At the same time, I want the small blue square to disappear under the frame of the triangle/red color and the frame of the large square when I take it and move it to the left.

The same goes for the circle… when I move it, I would like it to disappear when it leaves the square

Not sure if this is possible in any way?

 Hello @DerMuedeJoe, and welcome to the forum!

That would need an animation. Since you only made a photo from a part of your Krita Window, we are missing possibly a lot of helpful information for us. Usually, screenshots are made in all operating systems using the key right beside the F12 key of a full-size keyboard, that key is often named Print or Prt or other abbreviations of the word print. After hitting that Print key, you can insert that screenshot using CTRL + V into nearly every graphics software, Krita for instance.

And if you do not want to make an animation, then you can put objects on a layer above or under other objects by dragging them up or down in the layer stack, the parts on top of the layer stack are also above all parts on the canvas.

By the way, we need to know the operating system you use.
We need your exact Krita version number.
From where do you have your copy of Krita?
And in case it isn’t clear because of my discourse through screenshots above, we need a screenshot of your full Krita Window, including EVERYTHING that belongs to Krita, even the title bar and the status bar.

I’m not exactly sure what you want to do because I have trouble understanding your description, but can’t you just rearrange the group layers so that the triangle is under the square?

Maybe I’m misunderstanding your issue, but from I understand you may be looking for a way to clip each shape within the shape it’s in. Using Clipping Groups you can nest everything within each other. Create a group holding the Circle and Blue Square, then set the Circle layer to be clipped by the Square. Group the Group with the Circle and Blue Square and the layer with the Triangle and then set the Group with the Circle and Blue Square to be clipped by the Green Triangle layer. Finally, nest the group with the other group holding the Triangle and Group with the Circle and Blue Square within another group, along with the Big Red Rectangle, and clip the group with the Triangle and other group by the Red Rectangle. In the Screen shot below, the green layers are those that represent the layer stack you should end up with. The “Copy of Group 1” is my copy of that group, where I moved each of the objects around, to show how they’d be covered by the shapes they’re nested within.

A more complicated method is to use ‘nested holes’ where the green triangle is a triangular hole in a red layer through which can be seen a green layer.
Similarly, there is a rectangular hole in an upper white layer through which can be seen the red layer. Etc.

Using suitable grouping, you can move a shape and its content or the shape independently by selecting a layer or a group and using the Move Tool anywhere on the canvas:

Here is the .kra file:
Nested Holes Infinite Layers.kra - Google Drive

The title of a layer/group tells you what effect to expect when you use the Move Tool with that layer/group selected.

Note: The coloured layers are ‘infinite’ because they are ‘Background’ layers of a particular colour made using File → New, selecting a raster background colour and then copying that coloured Background layer to the document you’re working on.
