Layers in pop-up palette?

Do I remember wrong or was there a way to get the layers of a document displayed and editable in the pop-up palette? I seem to recall having that once and not wanting it, but now I’m wondering if I was just dreaming, since I’d like to have them there but there seems to be no way.

That’s never been the case, but in krita 5, you can press ctrl-enter, and select layers using their name in the command bar.

Thanks, I didn’t know that. It doesn’t quite scratch my itch, though, since that list seems to contain all kinds of actions, and anyway doesn’t let you edit the layers’ order or properties etc.

Sounds like you’re in canvas-only mode? Have you ever tried KanvasBuddy and vaguely remember it without being able to assign it? With KanvasBuddy you can also access your layer stack on canvas. To use it in the 5.x versions of Krita you have to patch it after installation, the Patch can be found near the end of the KanvasBuddy topic.
