Lena: Spring is Coming (February 2022)

Lena is an original character I first created in 2015. :grinning:
This piece was made with lineart practicing in mind, playing with line weight to create dimensions without texture.
I initially didn’t want to colour it but I did in the end.

The lineart alone:

I used two brushes for this piece: Basic-1 with small tweak and Airbrush (only during colouring).

Hi, your image was so cool that i repainted in Watercolor with Krita. So pleasant. I hope you don’t mind but i thought it would be a nice experiment.
I realized that for watercolor timelapses are not so interesting, because i value a lot to see the movement of the brushstroke. Anyway, very good job and congrats for the Featuring!

@kacart Happy Spring! :cherry_blossom:

@elihaun :orange_heart: Thank you! I did a small tweak of the Size » Pressure of Basic-1 to play with the line weight. Hopefully that can help you with using Basic-1 :smile:

@JoshuaArtist777 Thank you! :orange_heart: The thought has been in my mind for a while, yes. Hopefully one day. Thank you for asking :smile:

@RamonM That’s looking great! I love your watercolour works. :orange_heart: Thank you for sharing :smile: Are you using Digital Atelier watercolour brushes in this piece?

Thanks! i really enjoy watercolors too. I have used the brushes i shared in the last stream. They are using DA patterns.

Oh, thank you for the link! I missed this stream - I just finished watching the whole video, it is so insightful and I learnt a lot! Watercolour always scares me, but as you said the video makes it not as scary anymore now. :grinning:
