Working on this DTIYS Instagram Challenge from Petite Plante - I hope I will do justice to this drawing !

Hey!
After about 11 hours, I finally wrapped up my drawing for the Instagram DTIYS challenge by Petite Plante! 
What do you guys think? It’s a pretty big step for me since I’m just starting to draw characters (especially with this much detail). I kinda like the style I went for, but I’m not sure yet if it’s really “mine.”
Using photo refs helps me a lot with proportions—do you guys use them too?

I think you did a bang up job. Really great line work.
As with the references, yes. It helps with understanding the shapes, flow and perspective. Do your best to avoid AI slop and also do some gestures drawings as a bit of a warm up exercise from time to time. You’ll be surprised how it’ll make you comfortable with not needing exact references.

Hey @dragonscales Thank you so much for your valuable advice ! I’m definitely working on exercises so I can gradually let go of my photo models.
I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but it’s worth it!
