Linux 2-in-1 or Tablet recommendation for Linux (and pen if it doesn't come with one)

Looking for a good 2-in-1 or tablet (i.e. an iPad; but not an iPad) recommendation. I’ll be installing Linux (likely Fedora, but open to whatever works) with the primary intention of using Krita.

I’m looking for my daughter who loves Krita but wants to draw on-screen.

Very thankful for any recommendations (personal) or links to credible lists or reviews about this particular use-case on Linux.

Thanks so much!

Maybe someone with first hand experience could help, but this is a tricky combo. Basically it’s the most expensive and most fragile setup.

For a conventional choice, you would go with something like Kamvas Studio, or similar. But these devices cost as arm and a leg.

I may be able to suggest some links later, once I’m at the PC.

OK, I’m back with some resources.

This is the best video on the subject that I know of, by our colleague David:

There are a few follow up articles on his blog, too.

Sorry, my mention of pen computers (like Kamvas Studio) was a bit incorrect, because I believe all of these devices run Windows.

Honestly, I can’t point you to anything more. If painting on the screen wasn’t a hard requirement, I would say go for a decent laptop and a medium to small size pen tablet. That should be the most affordable, too.

Maybe others can give better a advice!
