Liquify Tool

Hi,
I use liquify tool heavily. With large document size (18"x12") it lags more and not precise as well.
When I flip an image horizontally it behaves incorrectly. To reduce the lag in large document I select an area and use liquify tool. It leaves a mark as I select an area move a bit. I would like to see a more precise and faster liquify tool in upcoming version of Krita.
Thanks.

Did you tried changing the preview option to Fast? Helps a lot, here:

A thing you can do, that i do a lot to not leave this ā€œmarksā€, but can only be used if you are liquifying one layer only, you can select the area, copy and paste it to create a new layer, liquify it, then merge it back with the original layer.
Alternatively you can use the Move tool brush, you will get blurrier results but is super fast and nice to use on early stages of a artwork.

Reduce ā€œSpacingā€ to 0.02 may get more precision I think.

Thanks a lot. I increased the ā€œAmountā€ to 0.08. Didn’t change in spacing. Let me try with these settings. I’ll notify you whether this works.

What I found is move brush works better than the liquify tool. To get smoother experience of Move brush I need to play with settings more. Liquify tool does not offer satisfactory behavior as other drawing programs. I found my way around with move brush.
Thanks @AxelFar

Hey, I also had all this issues. Turning the mode to ā€œFastā€ helps with the framerate of the deformation action. For the rendering; I also had the edges around selection āˆ’very annoyingāˆ’ and found that they disapeared when I used another Filter, Mitchell

You can configure this one in the regular first tab of the transform tool, and the rendering is crisp enough compare to Lanczos and better than Bicubic too. I hope it will help.

On sketches and speedpainting, it’s ok, yes. But be carefull if you use it on a final work with details or sharp inked lines: it blurs a lot and will smudge the pixels.

Hi @Deevad,
It’s been 4-5 months I’m using krita. But didn’t notice that ā€œfilterā€ option in transformation thanks for sharing. I’ll also keep in mind of smudging effect of move brush.
It’s kind of exciting to me ā€œThe Deevadā€ comes forward and solving an issue. Your contribution helps to thrive the Krita and Art community. Keep up the good work. Best of luck for the future Deevad.
