Looking back at my first work in Krita

This was drawn in November of 2025, the day I got my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 which we had to buy because I desired to draw in Krita and I cant draw on PC and I hate Procreate (almost quit drawing after a few months with it). I dunno why I chose inky brushes but these here are all default under the tag ‘ink’ and a few others - still from default set.

The character is from my setting that I had to put aside because I have more important and urgent stuff to draw, that one requires lots of effort as is mostly about concepts and storytelling in comics format. It is an anthropomorphic dog, yes. Basically he is a side character and there were no ghosts in the setting at all, but I drew him randomly this way so now I have ghosts there lol. A huge part of lore is now in work thanks to some random inspiration while testing brushes!

I found it today, absolutely loved it, got inspired to draw with digital inks again. So decided to show it here as well. Because I dreamt of drawing in Krita, my family barely could find the best device for it that would suit my needs (it had to be compatible with LineageOS) and when I finally got to it - that was one of the best days of 2025 honestly. Krita appeared to be even better than I expected (and my expectations were very high) and with LineageOS it never failed me, even tho I use old 5.1.5 version so far (I was dumb enough to not visit KDE downloads page and F-Droid had only old one).

This drawing is special for me in many ways, looking at it today I kinda got less depressed even. Without Krita, I would not create, would never get into gamedev and would have to quit all my projects because none of other drawing apps ever fit me this way. So aye it is a very special work and I just wanted to share the experience. To me such apps arent just tools (but am a weirdo programmer lol).

PS. if anything, it is not blood - the reddish tones are just shades of light, and this ghost is in no means evil, he was a honest and caring emperor (lemme dream pls, am fed up with reality so I’ve good emperors in my setting) and now watches over his son.

this is why we all need to experiment more, more positive emotions! tbh not better at all but drowning depression in my silly lil projects just to stay alive helps a lot. i learnt to love my art and code and it forces me to feel proud of myself lol. thank you ~

Great Work
