Heya! I’ve been using a wacom cintiq pro 24” with my pc, but really need to be able to draw on the go since I travel for my day job.
If anyone has a good place for searching general tablet requirements and having the ones available show up, that would be helpful. Google’s “-word” thing to redact any Wacom products and whatnot isnt working for me anymore for some reason, so that’s been difficult. I’ll be watching video review but figured to ask here too
Price isn’t really an issue, I would prefer to break away from Wacom (awful customer support experience over the past decade or so), and I prefer a larger screen. I do fly when I travel, so the lighter the better, but I can work with the weight if a better tablet requires that. It does need to be a standalone screen tablet though.
Any of the samsung “S” tablets. S10 lite, S11, S11 ultra, S9 FE… lots of them still working great today. I have s9 ultra.
My girlfriend have Oneplus Pad and also works great for Krita and other drawing apps.
Wacom have released some tablets with android that are really good but you don’t want more wacom…
And also look on xp-pen magic drawing pad, very good prices and paperfeel screen.
Huawei matepad, really really good, but you have to bypass google services.
Thats because I think you want to keep using krita.

If you want Ipad, anyone should work. I recently get one ipad Air with m3 chip. Working now with Adobre Fresco a lot and Feather 3d. Today procreate release new version of Dreams, but I will keep with Fresco for the moment.

I unfortunately did get an iPad Pro like a year-or-so ago but… I hate procreate lol I wanted to like it SO much but it’s been hard to transfer projects from Krita to Procreate and keep my work consistent since the tools are so different So I honestly stopped using it… I actually didnt know about Fresco though! I may try that out since it’s free and see if maybe I can keep doing the iPad thing with that. Since it works with animation too, that may be huge.
Important! Always check that the stylus on the chosen tablet does not produce waves when drawing diagonal lines.
It’s something that can be fixed with any stabilizer from the different programs, but personally, since I don’t like using stabilizers, I’m very bothered by tablets that have diagonal waves.
For example, the Surface Pro 9 (which I owned for a while) or the ipad air I have now, if you put a tempered glass screen protector on it, the waves appear.
Okay so I’ve been trying Fresco and I already like it a LOT more than procreate. The only thing I need now is to get it to export / import nicely with krita so I can work on my projects on the go and this will be the best solution haha
