A long time ago, I made this simple hand painted starfield animation:

There is one good thing about it and two bad things:
Good thing -
It has a perfect loop join.
Bad thing 1 -
It’s only one frame wide so as a star moves off the left side, it reappears at the right side.
Bad thing 2 -
It has obvious recognisable structures that make the viewer realise that it’s a loop and a very short one at that.
So, I tried again but I’m working on a method to use ‘natural’ images and I extracted this out of one of the many NASA astrophotography images:
It’s not pretty but it’s fairly random and featureless.
I’ve made a loop animation using the ‘new method’ and it’s not bad for casual viewing:

I might make a tutorial for this method one day, when I’m sure about it.
@raghukamath A fresh attempt with a freshly made and renamed .webp file didn’t work so I used an animated .gif instead.
Thank you for investigating this.

. If I can suggest something, I would say you can create layers of stars and animated the position with different speed for different layers. The top layer can have greater speed and the bottom kost layer will have slowest speed almost like atill image. This will give a sense of depth and parallax effect .
