There’s no bug! But… I’m sorry if I sound mean, and believe me, that’s not wanted, but what’s the point of them now? Unless the user made their own brush tip, but you could do that with any other brush…

That is true, you lose the functionality of the text brush tip. However, the text brush tip is so buggy that it might not even be worth it to have those features if you have to restart the program everytime you want to change something in the settings.
The Lorem brush is kind of a placeholder, I guess, or the lite version of the original. You could replace the tip with any text from a selection and it will still have the same trailing effect, but that is a bit more work compared to the original method.

Maybe you could do a stamp set? 
That could be something, no? It would be a usable placeholder, and complementary to the writing brush!

Like my first thought, that it would be great for onomatopoeia, you could use the same properties of your current brush, maybe even change it so the direction would follow the pen, and use different stamps or brush tips.
There are people here who draw comics, mangas, and webtoons. That would be useful, so as not to use the writing tool every time.
