It’s really the fifth time since I heard about Krita that I decided to install it after uninstalling through frustration. This time I want to finally resist uninstalling and instead ask for help to handle this software and I decided to post here about my frustration with this software, whenever it occurs, so hopefully devs will pick these issues up or someone informs me what I am doing wrong, so I can finally work with Krita, because Krita is my biggest hope to avoid cracking PS once and for all.
If I drag in two images while using the select tool and going back to the first image, I cannot select anything until I unfocus and refocus the entire app. Does anybody experience the same, am I doing something wrong?
I’m using macOS 12.1 (21C52), Krita 5.0.2 (brew install --cask Krita).
When I manually open files as you suggested the problem will not appear. It’s very unfortunate that Krita is providing an own file open selector, the native one of Finder would be a better choice imho. I cannot even open folders by typing them, but I don’t mind as long as dragging files in would work reliably.
I can confirm this is an issue, Only on the last added document the actions work until you switch applications. Could you report a bug? Log in to KDE Bugtracking System
The second issue: We now enable native Finder dialog for file selection. Since this is not your first time using krita the old dialog is set in your preferences, to change it go to Krita > Settings > Miscellaneous and set “Enable Native File Dialogs”
Also if the version string matches on brew, I really expect the whole binary to match (or shouldn’t I?), what is the point in using brew if I have to download it from kde to confirm issues anyways? I got the strange feeling that this wasn’t my last bug report, but I will just ask if I hit a wall before losing my mind once again.
