Yea his opinion is trash… and thats fact… not an opinion… Saying that using assets from AI generation makes your piece unfinished is like saying you cant use reference photos because you used a camera to take it…

I am insulting him directly… To declassify and de legitimize any artwork because of a tool to create assets USED in an artwork, is directly attributing his opinion to me as an artist…
IN MY OPINION his world view sucks, and I’d like to see his artwork to counteract his position… There is a difference between saying hey, i dont really like the idea of AI being used in art and i dont like this, VS “this isnt even finsihed because of xyz…”
Michelist could have just as well tempered his “world view” into something constructive… but all his comment or opinion did, is directly attack legitimacy… and if my last 15 hrs of work and thought behind this piece dont matter because the use of a tool, then I am 100% going to defend that, and i could care less what any of you think beyond that point… in my opinion my attack on his world view is warranted… regardless of whether or not im on this public forum… I will gladly step away from here and not share my work… I’ll go back to deviant art and using photoshop… it doesnt make any difference to me…

“large parts”? It’s the freaking background as has been clearly stated. I’d certainly get a bit angry too, if someone would dismiss my work in that way.
It seems to me that some people are taking this anti-AI-crusade (my opinion) a tad too far - and that’s a problem too. Where do you draw the line? Maybe we should ban photobashing too then? What about paint-overs of 3D models? What will be next…?

Yeah getting angry is not the issue here though. It is perfectly fine to get angry. I have gotten angry too here sometimes. And I say this from experience replying and commenting in anger only makes you regret having said certain things.
Having said that can we move on now. We have not yet decided on what to do with AI artworks. And how to treat them. We need to have a policy for them that is what I take away from this episode.
Again be polite there is no need to go overboard with emotions

I get that. The piece at hand shouldn’t be considered ‘AI artwork’ though. The most important part, the geisha portrait, is painted - according to the OP. Hence it should be moved to ‘Finished Artworks’ imho.

We don’t need layers for proof 
For me as long as Krita has been used to paint artwork, it’s Ok
And if background is generated by AI it’s not a problem to me: AI is a tool like SeExpr or Blender
But this debate has already been discussed with more than 300 posts in a single topic
I moved the topic to #lounge because I didn’t saw any artwork
I saw it on my phone, then I move back artwork to #artwork:finished-artworks
And maybe @raghukamath for future artwork CoC and ToS should be more clear about AI: when it’s allowed, when it’s not allowed, under which condition…

Here for the sake of this whole controversy here… I am going to post the original piece created in MidJourney…My reference I used to paint the woman, and snaps of my file stack…
Maybe this will attribute to how “AI artworks” are treated in whatever fashion yall deem appropriate…

Hopefully this will lay some foundation for a multimedia digital work that uses a multitude of techniques to achieve what I did here…
