May 2024 Ink Blot Challenge [Winner: @BeARToys]

Hello everyone! Here I am again!

After some tries, using a mix of a handmade brush and a super special secret technique, I finally found a way to create “Natural” looking blots, using the brush j) Watercolor Texture, the Multibrush Tool (set to Copy Translate) and the Horizontal Mirror Tool. Made in Krita, easy to set up, no need to create or download a special brush… What could I ask for more?

Here they are:

Rules;

  • You can choose to draw a piece using the whole shape of one of these three blots, or simply a chunk of it.
  • No NSFW stuff. If it has to be blurred, then it will not be accepted.
  • You can only post up to 3 drawings.
  • Please post each entry with the appropriate blot.
  • All entries should be hidden (:gear: > Hide Details) as to not influence others.
  • Duration of the Challenge; 2024-05-01T05:00:00Z2024-05-29T17:00:00Z

Have fun!

i saw bug head in all three, and i choose the last one.

i was going to draw an insect head but after a few dab of color, it turn into this silly dancing insect with a firefly bottom. he originally came without a light at his bottom, but i was a little inspired by @jimplex winning creation for the monthly contest. Of course mine was silly , and spontaneous. i was laughing when i saw his little face

Love it! The facial expression is priceless–that firefly looks like someone caught him dancing like no one was watching, but somebody was!

@Katamaheen They’re fantastic–so organic and you captured a perfect likeness of my mother lol!

Thank you very much! It was a bit head-scratching to find the right way to do them. In the end, it’s like the solution was right in front of my nose. Looks much better than planned too!

It’s such a great feeling when something actually comes out better than what you were imagining!

Haha! I love the face!

The only thing left to do is to hide it. It’s best so that others won’t be influenced and start seeing what you drew

Yes! I see it! I think your guy might be controlling the eye in mine! I think he must be telling the monkey what to do.

I just realized @rosa, @BeARToys, and @MangooSalade used the same inkblot. It’s funny to see three different interpretations of the same picture!

I hope you all had fun  What do you think, should the challenge continue next month? If yes, would it be good if the winner of the poll could create the next blots (be it digital or traditional)?

How many votes?

I originally wanted to make 2 possible votes but I made a mistake when creating the poll so there’s only one
