I am on Windows 10 using Krita 4.3.0 on a 4k screen and I have the high dpi setting turned on. The problem I have is that the font sizes in the settings and menus is very tiny. The tool icons all scaled up, but anywhere there is text, it is very small.
I found a post that told me add
“[GUI]
palettefontsize=10”
to the ‘kritarc’ file, which worked on the palettes but not all of the settings menus.
Is there a way to control the font size of all the menus?
From what I know Krita uses the system’s UI scale factor for scaling up it’s UI, at least on Linux but I can imagine it’s similar on Windows. I had to scale up to 150% to make it readable on a 4k display. I know windows has a feature too, to scale up the UI for different displays.
Heyho, I wanted to chime in here real quick. I got a 4k Monitor and set Windows 10 to 150% scaling. High DPI is activated in Krita but some of the text is still very small. I added two Screenshots. Maybe someone knows if I can fix it myself somehow. Thank you guys.
Fractional scaling isn’t well supported by Qt, but in the current nightly builds (stable and unstable) you can select a font and font size for krita specifically.
How do I download this? I am trying to download the nightly build from the downloads section but it doesn’t open anything. I’m a low vision artist and I’d love to use this software and the UI is so small.
On the main website download page, if you click on the link to ‘Krita Plus’ (Windows or Linux) then you’ll open the daily/nightly build dashboard for the build.
For the appimage, you have to right-click the link and do ‘Save Link As’ because of a long standing problem with some aspect of download management that I can’t remember the details of.
Font size is in Settings -> Configure Krita -> General group -> Window tab,
the ‘Use Custom Interface Font’ option and settings.
I’m having the same issue however I’m not very tech-savvy and have no idea what y’all are talking about. I’ve seen links to things however the links aren’t working. could some give me a step-by-step guide on how to fix the font on Windows 10? It’s hurting my head to try and read it.
I’m not super tech savvy either, so no worries. Just go to Settings > Configure Krita > General > Window … tick the box next to ‘use custom interface font’. You can choose the font style and size there.
Omg thank you so much!!! I had been clicking everything to try and see it but the text was so small I couldn’t even find it ㅜㅜ it was on 4 but now its perfect thank you so much!!
