Merge Down in Latest Nightly Creates Animation Layer

Hi,

I’ve noticed for the latest nightlies, since krita-5.3.0-prealpha-2d8f26e6e0-x86_64.appimage, that whenever I merge a layer down, either by the menu or the hotkey, the layer then turns into an animation layer with onion skin available, even though I am not animating.

I’m not sure, but it may have something to do with the “new string” that allows for non-animating layers to merge down with an animated layer, but now it makes all layers that merge into animation layers. I’m not sure if this is a bug since it did not occur previously.

I can confirm this and that it is because of that commit. It’s probably an oversight, and definitely a bug.
Edit: I’ve reported it: bug 476015 – Merging non-animated layers creates animated layer .
