MeyMay 2025 - Axolotl

The Axolotl and Clown is what I wanted to make from this year’s MerMay prompt but the Clown artwork is gonna be posted sometime early next month.
The weird filter effect is to mimic the Glazed Watermark thing to prevent anyone to use my work for A/I.
MerMay Prompt provided by Tom Bancroft
Made in Krita.

Interesting, I’ve never heard of anyone using a filter like that, but it seems like a good idea. I may have to start doing something similar.

Nice work!

I use these VHS patterns.
Tip if you want to use this too.
Best to import these patterns from Krita’s Manage Resources so that when you add Fill Layer, you’ll be able to transform it better rather using the transform tool that’ll ruin its quality and then use whatever VHS pattern you feel like works with you.
Also, you’ll have to enable AND mode from the Binary Section at the bottom of the Layer Modes and set it between 10% to 20% on top of your work.

That is really useful information. Thanks @s.m.j.ismyname

I’ve always used a transform layer but have never liked it and found it cumbersome. You’re way of adding it makes so much more sense.

Thanks!
